The weather was really nice out today too so I’m sure that contributed to the heat in the class. It’s only been my second class at Impact and I’m really loving thus, looking forward to taking more classes :)

I have been taking Pilates mat and reformer on and off for >30 years but I have never seen the toys that were featured in this class. A kind of missile with handgrips which challenges your balance and core and TRX were among my favorites. The teacher was chill and magnetic and made helpful corrections in the class. Recommend!

But he tries his best to explain everything, go slow, is very receptive to questions, kind demeanor and great energy. Also a few people were in workout clothes and socks so if you don’t have ballet attire and are just trying something out, don’t stress. Would definitely go again!

For feedback, I think lowering the volume of the music would be great because I couldn’t hear what was said towards the end especially during the glutes sequence. see all reviewsImmediately looked at memberships after taking Rachel’s class. This was my first class and she was SO welcoming. High energy class with proper corrections. She went around individually to ask about injuries and if it was your first time, which I loved rather than asking the class as a whole. I loved the format of Rachel verbally explaining the movements with another teacher demonstrating simultaneously. No fitness class has left me this sore so fast. Front worker was also so sweet and welcoming. He walked me through what my experience might look like and totally calmed my nerves with it being my first barre class. Studio was clean and easy to access. Cannot wait to come back I’d recommend Rachel to everyone!!

But very refreshing! There were like 3 other instructors in the same class also, one being Candace, and I was amazed because her form was so on point! I do hope to come back again. see all reviewsShe is the best instructor I've taken with at Kala. I have had yoga with a few others as well and they were wonderful! Allysa is like a calming drill sergeant. I believe it's because she is really present with her students and can sense when they need that extra, "you're stronger than you think" or "it's okay to choose lower weights if you need that right now". She remembers everyone's name. She notices the small things like if you are trying to knit your lower rib cage together while not even being cued. I mean teachers talk about this a lot in cues but do they really see when you are doing it on your own? It's subtle. I think her years as a professional dancer have helped shape the teacher she is now. The class she designed has an amazing playlist and the short circuits are perfectly tailored so you don't get burnt out by too long of reps in one area. This class is part of why I joined class pass and I hope it stays.
