    REFORMER

Tried the Pilates class at 1Rebel and the studio itself is impressive. The instructor was decent and got the job done, but nothing that really stood out. The one thing I genuinely couldn’t get past was the music it was blasting the entire time, which felt completely at odds with what a Pilates class should feel like. Instead of leaving calm and centred, it felt more like a workout in a club. Not really my vibe for this kind of practice. Might work for some, but if you’re after a more mindful experience, just be prepared for the noise.

Another great class by Chloe, loved the mix of classic moves with some challenging new ones. Always 10/10 in Chloe’s class 🤌🏼❣️

    Open Gym

It’s reliable! I’ve come here around 10x now. I obviously like it. A bit limited but I see the effort to include as much as possible in a small space! (Suggestion if I may —) If they had another room to perhaps separate some machines into 2 rooms. Themed them into needs such as “functional training area” or “weights area” or “cardio and strength machines” or whatever they deem makes sense for the equipment at hand, so they can add more — like a hip abduction one would be nice, then it would be wonderful. Some machines need updating but there’s multiple ways to work out your target, so you can get creative with what’s there. It can be frustrating but it’s the only gym in the area you can get at this price. So you forget the wear and tear and can appreciate it, reminding yourself it’s a sweet community recreation center. The only thing that truly irks me is the erratic pricing. I would love if they didn’t randomly spring up the pricing at random days and times differing each week. It doesnt even coordinate with the how busy it is in the gym. I’ve booked at every price and it’s all the same. So it does feel opportunistic. Otherwise, kind staff and the gym hours are good! Gym goers are nice and you get work done :)
