see all reviewsI had a larger class, and the mats were slightly close to each other, but it was well spaced and we all had the room to stretch out. Great workout, I went to the Flow exercise and it was paced by inhales and exhales on breaths, first going through a cycle slowly with a full breath or three on each pose and then faster, inhaling on one pose and exhaling as we move into another. Our instructor was great, lots of people here had been to hot yoga before, but the instructor was very good at letting newcomers know how to modify poses or when to take a second to cool off.

see all reviewsI really enjoyed Chalise’s class. The instructor carried a positive, motivating energy to a challenging workout. She was attentive throughout and offered guidance and corrections when needed, helping me get the most out of each posture. I especially appreciated the almost rhythmic cadence she used when cueing certain sequences, which made it easy to synchronize my movements with her instructions and power through each set. A great balance of encouragement, instruction, and intensity.

see all reviewsSam’s Thursday Yin + Sound class at Live in Joy has become one of my favorite parts of my week. I go every Thursday I can, and there’s something about the energy of this class and this space that keeps bringing me back. The studio itself is part of the experience for me — the wooden floors, the Om sign on the wall, the art and statues throughout the room, and especially the way the setting sun pours into the space as we practice. It’s such a beautiful atmosphere to settle into the long, quiet holds of yin and simply be with yourself. Sam creates such a warm, grounded space to slow down, soften, and be present in your body. And then, at the end of the yin practice, comes the sound. By that point the body has already softened and the mind has quieted, and Sam closes the practice with singing bowls, chimes, and the gentle sound of the rain stick. There’s something about receiving all of that sound after the stillness of yin that feels like the perfect completion to the practice. I practice different styles of yoga throughout my week, but Thursday Yin + Sound has its own special place in my routine. It feels less like another class on my schedule and more like a weekly ritual — a place to land, release the week, and come back to myself. I always leave feeling softer, quieter, and more spacious than when I walked in. If you’ve never practiced yin before, this is such a beautiful way to experience it. And if you already love yin, Sam brings something really special to the practice. Give yourself permission to slow down, stay awhile, and experience this class for yourself. 🤍
